Corporate Collage Workshop

I’ve discovered that the process of collaging together as teams has amazing potential to increase clear communication, build trust, and form team bonds. Having worked in the corporate setting as a Creative Director most of my career I’m intimately familiar with the struggles and successes of that environment.  As mentioned on my Workshop page (link) the process of collaging together has cognitive benefits as well as art creation benefits. Breakthroughs are possible at a subconscious level, and teams can be transformed.

The results mentioned on my Workshop page (link) occur with every workshop.  That of play, insights and personal satisfaction.

The results of a Corporate Collage Workshop have the potential to be even deeper due to a team continuing to work together following the workshop.   Results of trust, finding common ground, and clearly communicating ideas all have the potential to move your team forward into the future.

What does a Corporate Collage Workshop entail?

Customizing your workshop with your own questions and goals is an exciting first step I will lead you through. We will begin with an introductory call and I will weave your ideas into the curriculum below.

Here is how a workshop could progress.

Plum, following is the curriculm. Lets alter the font treatment of have a box around it?

-We will begin with a moment or two of introduction to set expectations about how we will be spending our time.  I will describe the history of collage, how to use tools, the process of collaging and how colors, textures and images represent different feelings.  I will explain the mental states that help in getting in touch with feelings and choosing images.

-First Question to the group - Let’s think about why you each chose to work for ‘your companies name’.  Choose one or more images from the source material that capture something about why you chose to work for ‘your companies name’.

-Share - Two to three participants will share their choices. This will mainly be by volunteer to keep the space feeling safe for all levels of comfort.

-Question – Let’s think about some of your happiest or even proudest moments here at ‘your companies name’.  Choose one or more images from the source material that capture this or these moments.

-Share - Two to three participants will share their choices.

-Question – Roles and how we fit into a group or a company often change.  Let’s think about the changes that you have been part of here at ‘your companies name’ and choose images to represent this.

-Share - Two to three participants will share their choices.

-Question – Thinking about the future, what are your hopes for what is next for you here or in your career overall?  Also consider, what areas do you want to grow, learn or progress in.  Perhaps this is within the next year or long term. Choose images about these dreams and aspirations.

-Share - Two to three participants will share their choices.

The last portion of the workshop will be for each participant to use their chosen images and create an individual collage.  I’ll review composition ideas and tips on how to trim, paste etc.

Each participant will leave with a finished collage. The collage will be an encapasulation of answers to the questions we have asked. You could call it an individual vision board and if they choose to keep it in their space it can prompt their actions moving forward.

What type of results can be expected?

If one of the questions was in relation to your ‘happiest or even proudest moments … at ‘your companies name’;  a potential outcome would be that they want to replicate that proud moment.  Maybe they want to work on some training to help them towards that promotion.

Another example could be that a few participants had a similar ‘reason for joining ‘your companies name’;  now they will know that about each other.  It may be that some joined ‘your companies name’ hoping to move up in their career.  Knowing others who joined for the same reason is common ground that can be built on. Moving forward these participants who shared that reason for joining your company, can support each other in opportunities when promotions become available.  Or perhaps they attend a specific training together to learn leadership techniques.  They are both interested in promotions and they support each other in that common ground. These are immediate results.

Long term results specific to corporate workshops are insights as leaders that you will come away with. You know now answers to questions like ‘what are your dreams or aspirations'; and you can choose to support these moving forward.

During the workshop you and fellow participants have the opportunity to learn communication styles, create trust and share unique perspectives. Bonds have the potential to form.

Having gone through the workshop with them, you have all been a bit vulnerable, and vulneravulnerability billty builds trust.

I have a Bachelors of Art in Design and over 20 years of experience leading creatives in the corporate setting.  I’ve also lead smaller groups in the community that included creatives and non creatives.  Having collaged most of my life, I love sharing what I’ve learned and providing encouraging environments where individuals can embrace their unique expression.
